The Saline County Commission approved the use of the courthouse lawn for the annual “Shopping Under the Sun Event” in August.

The event which includes a beer garden, car show and craft vendors is scheduled for Friday, August 4 and Saturday, August 5.

Marshall Cultural Council President Ashley Boock gave the commission details for the seventh year of the event.

In other news from the meeting, the commission approved the purchase and installation of blinds for the third floor of the Saline County Courthouse at a cost of $26,397.00.
