A Bates City woman was killed in a UTV accident in Johnson County on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Sharon Bemboom was the passenger on a UTV driven by Robert Bush of Kingsville when it overturned.

Bemboom was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bush was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City with serious injuries.

The accident occurred at 4:13 p.m. on 200 Road in Johnson County.
