May 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of Arrow Rock being named a National Historic Landmark. Arrow Rock Historic District will be host to a special day focused on history, interpretation, and historic preservation on Saturday, May 6.

Voices of Arrow Rock: The 1837 George Caleb Bingham home will be the setting for the fourth installment of the ground-breaking interpretive theatre series at 10 a.m. Using art to explore history, the Voices of Arrow Rock project brings to life lesser-known citizens of the historic village.

Guided Preservation Tour: Friends of Arrow Rock’s historic preservationist Marty Selby will take you “behind the scenes” to see preservation in action at 2 p.m. You’ll explore buildings that aren’t normally open to visitors. Preservation tours meet at the historic Miller-Bradford House, 517 Main Street, and have a capacity of 20 visitors. Reserve your spot here, or by calling 660-837-3231. $15 per person.

Historic Buildings Open House: You can also enjoy a leisurely unstructured tour of the many buildings and exhibits of Arrow Rock, all open to the public from 2-6 p.m. Many of the buildings will be hosted by guides and interpreters.

Admission to all events (except for the Guided Preservation Tour) is free.
