Due to dry conditions and excessive wind forecasted the City of Sedalia has placed in a burn ban until further notice. No open burning, including recreational burn pits, will be allowed within the city limits of Sedalia until further notice. The use of barbecue grills is still authorized as long as the grill has a lid to cover the fire while cooking.

The ban began Tuesday, May 2, 2023 and will continue until significant rainfall and lower wind conditions occur. The ban is city wide and due to a lack of rain and dry, windy conditions.
