A Concordia man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on I-70 on Tuesday, May, 2, 2023.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when 61-year-old Preston Goins lost control of a vehicle and traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a culvert. The vehicle came to an uncontrolled stop in the grass north of the outer road.

Goins was transported by Sni Valley EMS to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs where he was later pronounced deceased.

The accident occurred at 5:24 p.m. on I-70 at mile marker 27.6 in Jackson County.
