The Slater City Council swore in its council members during its meeting on Tuesday, May 3.

The council was unable to swear in its members at the last meeting because many of them were absent.

Incumbents Terry Jordan, Brenda Smith, Matt Campbell, and Crystal Wiseman were are sworn in for their next terms. The city of Slater did not have an election in April because each member ran unopposed.

Also Jordan was voted as Mayor Pro Tem.

In other news, Mayor Stephen Allegri highlighted more events scheduled in the city. The city wide garage sale is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, May 6.
