The Sedalia City Council held a discussion over Springfork Lake during its meeting on Monday, May 1.
The city had the lake under contract, but city administrator Kelvin Shaw said the contract recently expired. The water department pays for all the maintenance required at the property, however the city doesn’t use the lake as a water source anymore.
Shaw stated the city wants to get input from the public about what to do with that property.
A public hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 5, 2023, regarding input about Springfork Lake and what the public would like the city to do with the property.
