The Saline County Health Department discussed the end of the COVID-19 Pandemic during the Saline County Commission meeting on Wednesday, May 10.

Health Department Administrator Tara Brewer announced that May 11, 2023 is officially the last day of the pandemic. She said it will officially be classified as an endemic.

Lisa Thomas, who also attended the meeting, detailed some of the changes with the vaccine.

The booster guidelines have also changed. They are dependent on overall patient health and age. There are no monovalent vaccines, and the department expects there to be another vaccine available in Fall 2023.
