A Marshall man has been charged with several felonies after police responded to an assault.

The Marshall Police Department says they were contacted in reference to an assault that occurred on Saturday, May 13. Officers observed that the victim had bruises and cuts from the alleged altercation.

A witness to the incident told authorities that Kenneth Ingle grabbed the victim by the throat and was verbally threatening her. Ingle also had a loaded handgun, but he did not point it at the victim.

While police were arresting Ingle, they located a zip lock bag containing controlled substances on his person.

Court documents say Ingle is charged with two felonies for possession of a controlled substance and one for domestic assault in the third degree.

An initial appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 31 at Saline County Circuit Court.
