Terry Sadewhite, 84, of Marshall, MO, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at The Arbors at Westport Estates surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall with Fr. Francis Doyle officiating.  Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.  Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or Easter Seals in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born August 16, 1938, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Curtis Bernard “Bud” Sadewhite and Lucille Evelyn Yokeley Sadewhite.  On June 6, 1959, he married Delores Ann Weaver who survives of the home.  Terry graduated from Mercy Academy, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Relations from Missouri Valley College in 1962 and then his Master of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1964.  From 1957 to 1963 he served in the Missouri Army National Guard and attained the rank of Sgt. 1st Class.  Terry dedicated his life to helping and serving others, especially those who could not help themselves, which led him to a 41 year career at Marshall Habilitation Center where he was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and served in various administrative roles.

He was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church, having served as president of St. Peter School Board, and Knights of Columbus where he served as Past Grand Knight of 3rd Degree and Past Faithful Navigator of 4th Degree.  As an involved member of the community and continuing his dedication to serve, Terry was a member of Kiwanis Club, past president of Butterfield Youth Services board, Marshall Chamber of Commerce and Saline County United Way, a past member of Indian Foothills Park board and a member of the National Association of Certified Social Workers.  Terry was an avid sports fan and was proud to support his alma mater Missouri Valley Vikings.

In addition to his wife of nearly 64 years, Delores; he is survived by four children: Julia Malter (Freddy) of rural Malta Bend, Cathy Brown (Bob) of Carthage, Lisa Smith (Bud) of Columbia and Joe Sadewhite (Sarah) of Columbia; eight grandchildren: Paul Ray Malter (Jeanna), Shawn Malter (Cayla), Stephanie Crank (Justin), Christopher Brown (Nicole), Joshua Brown, Amber Sadewhite, Lucy Sadewhite and Josey Sadewhite; six great-grandchildren: Bayleigh Malter, Addilyn Malter, Bryer Malter, Jase Crank, Baylor Crank and Baron Brown; two sisters, Mary Eikerman (Gene) of Marshall and Judy Davis of Springfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
