A Sedalia man has been charged with a drug related felony after a traffic stop on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
According to a probable cause statement, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driven by Bryan Stevenson in La Monte. Stevenson and a passenger in the vehicle gave conflicting stories on their trip back to Sedalia. An officer noted factors consistent with nervousness by Stevenson. When asked to search the vehicle, permission was denied. During a search of the vehicle, baggies containing a white crystal substance were found which later tested positive for over 25 grams of alleged methamphetamine.
Stevenson was charged with a felony for delivery of a controlled substance.
A warrant was issued on Thursday, May 18, 2023 for failure to appear in court and bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety with conditions.
Stevenson was arraigned on Monday, May 22, 2023 and has a counsel status hearing scheduled for 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
