The Cooper County Emergency Management Agency announced the addition of two new Outdoor Warning Sirens. These sirens were made possible through an Emergency Management Performance Grant.
The sirens are scheduled to be installed next week. One of the sirens will be placed at Hail Ridge Golf Course. This Siren will cover the area around the golf course including the Boonville Airport, The Village of Windsor Place, and Fox Hollow Subdivision.
The second siren will be placed next to the Campground at the Brady Show Grounds located at I70 and Highway 179. This siren will provide coverage for the Brady Show Grounds, Peach Tree Farms, Warm Springs Ranch, Cooper Ridge Event Venue, the residential area around the area and parts of the Big Muddy Fish and Wildlife Refuge.
Along with the additional sirens we will be making changes to the testing day and activation policy. Testing of the Cooper County Outdoor Warning Sirens will be changed from the first Saturday of each month to the first Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m.
