Ralph Herman Twenter, age 92, of Pilot Grove, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.

Ralph was born November 3, 1930, in Pilot Grove , a son of Daniel and Mary (Kempf) Twenter, who preceded him in death.

He married the love of his life, JoAnn Kanenbley, on August 29, 1953, in Sedalia, MO. JoAnn preceded him in death on August 18, 2014.

Ralph and JoAnn owned Twenter Lumber Company in Pilot Grove for 36 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, served on the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Association, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lion’s Cub, and served with the volunteer fire department for many years. He loved children. He especially enjoyed attending the school masses and helping students with projects. He was very outgoing and loved life.

Survivors include two children, Daniel J. Twenter and Linda Twenter, both of Pilot Grove; a grandson, Cody Twenter, of Pilot Grove; six great grandchildren, Payden Buchanan, Evalynn Ryan, Kolbie Lee Twenter, Jaxson Twenter, Mya Carmichael, and Adalyne Twenter; brother-in-law, Charles Kanenbley, of Anaheim, CA; and many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Twenter, Leonard Twenter, and Wilbert “Bee” Twenter; his sister, Mary Helen Knedgen; sister-in-law, Mary Duvel; two nephews, Ray Twenter and Larry Twenter; and two nieces, Pauline Easterday and Sandra Knedgen.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove, with Father Mark Smith, officiating.

A Prayer Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, at the church, followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Payden Buchanan, Kolbie Lee Twenter, John Twenter, John Schuster, Robert Lorenz, Jeff Wessing, Gene Kuster, Wesley Clarke, and Bradley Vollmer.

Honorary pallbearers are nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School, in care of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home, Pilot Grove.
