Saline County Circuit Clerk Becky Uhlich gave an update on marijuana expungements during the Saline County Commission meeting on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Uhlich stated the clerk’s office has processed 1,223 expungements since December 8, 2022, writing off over $57,000 of fines in the process.

Uhlich also stated the fees being written off are fees that have not been paid to date and no refunds will be given for previously paid fees. The deadline for misdemeanor expungements is June 8, while the felony expungements deadline is December 8.

In other news, the commission approved a request from Malta Bend American Legion Post 558 for the use of the south side of the Saline County Courthouse for the morning of November 10 to hold the Saline County Veteran’s Day ceremony.
