A Green Ridge woman has been charged with two felonies after a traffic stop in Sedalia on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

According to a probable cause statement, A Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven Michelle Petty. The deputy recalled the vehicle had been involved in drug activity in the Green Ridge area.

Petty allowed the deputy to search the vehicle at which time a small, clear baggie containing a crystal like substance was found within a compartment in the armrest. The substance allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine. A juvenile passenger was also present in the vehicle.

According to court documents, Petty has been charged with felonies for possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.

Petty posted a $10,000 bond on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 and an arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
