The project to rehabilitate six bridges in Carroll County is well underway with two bridges complete and four under construction.
During construction, each roadway will remain narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through each work zone. Crews will continue working five days each week, but work zones will remain in place around-the-clock. Some work may be completed on Saturdays, if necessary.
The work still under construction includes:
-The northbound and southbound U.S. Route 24/65 bridges over Old U.S. Highway 24/Outer Road 24 and the BNSF railroad, located just south of the Benton Street Bridge. Scheduled to be completed in mid-June.
-U.S. Route 24 (Benton Street) over U.S. Route 65. Scheduled to be completed in mid-July.
-U.S. Route 24 over BNSF Railroad just east of the U.S. Route 65 interchange. Scheduled to be completed in September.
-U.S. Route 24 over Little Wakenda Creek east of Carrollton. Scheduled to be completed in September.
The completed work includes:
-U.S. Route 24/65 over Moss Creek Drainage Ditch, approximately 4 miles south of Route 10
-U.S. Route 24/65 over the Norfolk Southern Railroad, Outer Road 24 and Missouri 10
All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
