The Pettis County Fire Protection District Number One responded to two fires over the weekend.

The first fire was reported near a residence on North Heard Avenue in Sedalia. Multiple outbuildings were burning near the residence. The Sedalia Fire Department assisted with mutual aid to help battle the blaze.

Both outbuildings were deemed a total loss and the residence suffered heavy smoke and fire damage. 25 personnel responded to the scene, with two reporting injuries, with nothing serious. Fire personnel were on scene for more than four hours.
