A Boonville man on a motorcycle was moderately injured after striking a deer on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, 35-year-old Brandon Smith was traveling southbound and struck the deer on the roadway.

Smith was transported by the Cooper County Ambulance District to University Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries.

The accident occurred at 10:50 p.m. on Route U north of Doyle Road in Cooper County.
