The Kansas City Royals gave up five runs in the first inning in a 6-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Saturday, June 3.

The Royals dug themselves into an early hole after allowing five runs in the first inning. The Rockies got RBI hits from Ryan McMahon, Randal Grichuk, and Elehuris Montero. Brenton Doyle also had a sacrifice fly.

Daniel Lynch gave five runs, three earned, and six hits over five innings. He walked one and struck out seven. Josh Staumont also permitted a run in the sixth inning.

Nick Pratto homered for the Royals. Bobby Witt Jr. had a three-hit day, while Salvador Perez Maikel Garcia, and Drew Waters each drove in runs for Kansas City.

The Royals have dropped three straight, and fall to 17-41 on the season.
