Crews from the Otterville Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire during the early morning hours of Monday, June 5.

The back porch of the residence was fully engulfed. The homeowner was keeping the fire at bay with their garden hose while waiting for crews to arrive. Six firefighters and three trucks responded to the scene about ten minutes after it was first reported.

Crews got the situation under control quickly, and managed to save the home with minor damage. The back porch was completely destroyed. No injuries were reported.
