Virginia W. (Sanders) Harrison, age 99, died on June 3, 2023.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, June 9, 2023 at St. Patrick Chapel, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sedalia, Missouri. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to charity of the donor’s choice, with one exception, the family requests no memorials be given to Bothwell Hospital Foundation. Memorials may be left at or mailed to McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, 519 S. Ohio St., Sedalia, MO 65304.

Virginia was a 1941 graduate of Smith Cotton High School.

On December 21, 1945, she married James. L. Harrison.

She was a china painter, loved sewing and needlework, playing cards with her friends, working jigsaw puzzles and flower gardening. In her later years, she loved traveling across America and Europe.

Virginia was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. At the age of 99 she still lived at home and managed her own affairs. She kept up with current events and continued to vote.

On September 18, 2023 Virginia would have been 100 years old. She was an inspiration to all those who were close to her.

She is survived by her son Terrence and her daughter Nancy; along with three grandchildren Christopher Schott, Anne Tempel, and Eric (Marian) Tempel; five great-grandchildren Amelia, Anthony, Makai, Gabriela and Rafael.
