Marshall Police, Marshall Fire, and Saline County Ambulance were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle collision at the 400 block of North Jefferson Avenue at approximately 2:34 a.m., on Friday, June 2, 2023. Upon their arrival they observed the driver of the vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. The driver was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

After investigation, a Marshall man was arrested on Friday, June 2, 2023, in relation to the shooting. Andrew Dodd, a 26-year-old man from Marshall, Missouri, was taken into custody, and is currently being held at the Saline County Justice Facility on unrelated charges. Officers with the Marshall Police Department are continuing the investigation.
