The Boonville City Council discussed a contract with the Boonville School District for school resource officers for the 2023-2024 school year during its meeting on Monday, June 5.

The district had previously requested two resource officers from the city.

City Administrator Kate Fjell stated the city had hired a candidate to work for the city beginning July 1.

The second position will start in January of 2024. The council will vote on final approval of the contract at the next meeting.
