The Sedalia City Council passed an ordinance approving and accepting an ARPA Tourism Grant Agreement for Liberty Park Stadium improvements during its meeting on Monday, June 5.

The council successfully obtained a $1,286,985 grant for improvements for the stadium, which was constructed in the late 1930s. City Administrator Kelvin Shaw listed some of the improvements planned for the stadium.

In other news, the council held a public meeting for input for future uses of the Springfork Lake. Shaw reported that the public encouraged the city not sell the property. The council will put out a survey and participate in work sessions to come with ideas for the property.
