An Ionia woman was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Benton County on Friday, June 9.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when 72-year-old Linda Browning accelerated instead of braking and drove up an embankment. Linda Browning and 49-year-old passenger Paul Browning were ejected from the motorcycle.

Linda Browning was transported by Life flight to University Hospital with serious injuries. Paul Browning suffered minor injuries and was treated and released on the scene.

The accident occurred at 7:05 p.m. on Wienberg Avenue in Benton County.
