Cecil W. Poppinga, 85, of Marshall, MO, died Friday, June 9, 2023, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Saline Animal League in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born September 29, 1937, in Green Ridge, MO, he was the son of the late Wilbert Ameil Poppinga and Reva Isabelle Weathers Poppinga.  Cecil lived in Saline County most of his life and was a graduate of Malta Bend High School.  On October 15, 1958, he married Evalene Jacobs who survives of the home.  Cecil worked in the family real estate business most of his adult life which included various jobs.  Some of those included taking care of the rental properties, being the appraisal processor, and being a realtor, just to name a few.  Cecil was simply a jack of all trades and a true perfectionist.

In addition to his wife, Evalene; he is survived by one daughter, Denne Riley of Marshall; two grandsons, Jeremy Ward (Emily) and Joshua Riley (Linsey); five great-grandchildren: Lauren, Brock, Elizabeth, John and Skyler; as well as other extended family.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Joe Riley; and one brother, Bob Poppinga.
