Two subjects were arrested in Pettis County after authorities located over 800 counterfeit pills testing positive for fentanyl.

Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in Sedalia on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Friday, June 09. During the stop, the deputy developed reasonable suspicion to extend the stop and requested a K9 to assist.

The K9 alerted to the vehicle indicating the presence of narcotics.

During a search of the vehicle, approximately 803 counterfeit Percocet pills consistent with prior fentanyl seizures, were located. The pills field tested positive for fentanyl.

Two passengers were taken into custody upon locating the pills and transported to the Pettis County Jail. 23-year-old Ross Kellerman, of Independence, and 25-year-old Danielle Norman, of Marshall. Both Kellerman and Norman initially provided false names but their true identities were revealed via the use of SPD’s mobile fingerprint scanner.

Due to the driver of the vehicle being a 17-year-old juvenile, the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office is requesting charges of 2nd Degree Trafficking, 1st Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Identity Theft for both Norman and Kellerman.

Both subjects were also arrested on outstanding warrants out of Jackson County. Ross Kellerman had an additional warrant for his arrest out of Henry County, Missouri for failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance with a bond set at $50,000.

It was later determined the juvenile was a runaway from Columbia, Missouri, and had been on the run for two months. Pettis County Deputies transported the juvenile to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office and was later released to her mother.
