Ralph Lee Shanahan, 96, of Sedalia, died peacefully, Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Inurnment Graveside services will 12:00pm, Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at LaMonte Cemetery, with Chaplain Jeff Stegner officiating. The family suggests memorials to the Children’s Therapy Center. Memorials may be left at or mailed to McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, 519 S. Ohio St., Sedalia, MO 65301.

Ralph was born October 9, 1926, in Kirk, Colorado, the son of the late William D. and Marilla Adeline (Dillon) Shanahan.

On May 9, 1946, he married Ruby C. Klein. She preceded him in death on August 21, 1997.

Ralph started working at the Panhandle Eastern Pipeline in Houstonia, MO, beginning at the age of 19 and worked until he retired in 1983.

Ralph never stopped staying busy helping others and doing wood working in his garage.

He and his wife Ruby and daughter Sherry spent their weekends at the lake home, which he built from the ground up.

Ralph is survived by his daughter Sherry Walker of Sedalia; two granddaughters and three great grandchildren.

Ralph was preceded in death by his five brothers Robert, Melvin, Vernon, Kenneth, and Raymond; and sister Velma.
