
Missouri non-farm payroll increased by 3,700 jobs from April 2023 to May 2023, and the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady. Private industry employment increased by 3,300 jobs and government employment increased by 400 jobs.
According to the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center, the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.5 percent in May 2023.
Over the year, there was an increase of 55,600 jobs from May 2022 to May 2023, and the unemployment rate increased by four-tenths of a percentage point.
