The Sedalia City Council discussed ordinances to annex two properties into the city during its meeting on Monday, June 19.

City Administrator Kelvin Shaw stated the properties are Lot 32 of Gables Phase Two, owned by Vyacheslav Kolesnik and Lot 33 of Gables Phase Two owned by Eugene Limanskiy.

Shaw stated a public hearing was held at the previous council meeting and a 14 day waiting period was required after the hearing for comments before the ordinance could be approved.

The council approved the annexation of the lots.

In other news, the council approved a budget amendment to appropriate funds to add ballast to the industrial rail spur at Nucor to make it safer and easier for employees to walk on. Nucor had offered to pay for the project but because it is on city property, Sedalia added the cost to its budget. Nucor donated funds to the city for the cost of the project.
