Human remains were found on an island in the Missouri River near Grand Pass on Saturday June 24.

According to a report from the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Highway Patrol Water Division responded to Hills Island Chute and recovered the remains.

The remains were transferred to the Saline County Coroner for an autopsy.
