A Boonville man has been charged with an attempted carjacking on Monday, June 26.

According to a probable cause statement, a female victim was sitting in her vehicle at the Breaktime convenience store in Boonville and a man identified as Anthony Conner approached her vehicle. Conner allegedly asked for a ride and after the victim refused allegedly opened the driver’s side door attempting to take control of the vehicle. The victim refused to move and Conner approached the passenger’s side door and attempted to unlock it through a window that was down. The victim gave several commands to leave and at that time reached under the driver’s seat. Conner then ran away from the vehicle.

According to the Boonville Police Department, Conner has active warrants that he has failed to appear in court on.

A warrant was issued on Tuesday, June 27 for Conner. He has been charged with a felony for attempted vehicle hijacking.
