A Heat Advisory will be in effect from 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 28 through 7 p.m. Friday June 30 in the area.

Heat index values around 105 degrees are expected. High temperatures and high humidity may cause illnesses to occur.

Counties affected in the KMMO listening area include, Johnson, Carroll, Lafayette, Saline, Howard, Pettis and Cooper.

Individuals are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors. Pets and young children should not be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precaution while working outside.
