The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works discussed several action items during its meeting on Thursday, June 29.

The board started by approving a motion to begin the sludge pad trench drain expansion project for the Wastewater Treatment facility. The facility has trench drains that collect any rain runoff from the sludge that is being stored. Heavy rains create runoff that causes the sludge to travel over existing grating and into the roadway. Making the drains wider would prevent any runoff.

The board approved a motion to begin the drain expansion project. The budget for the project is $60,000.

The board also approved a motion to continue the Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) project. The board accepted a bid to rehab approximately 4,285 feet of eight inch sewer main using the CIPP method in the amount of $164,972.50.
