The Odessa Board of Aldermen approved the final plat for the Historic 1912 School Building property during its meeting on Monday, June 26.

City Administrator Shawna Davis stated the city is in the process of selling a portion of the property and will retain the north part of the property for a future public safety facility.

In other news from the meeting, the board approved adjusting the city ordinance for fireworks. Odessa does not allow fireworks inside the city limits but allows an exception for the July 4th Holiday. Fireworks will be permitted from 8 a.m. through 11 p.m. Saturday, July 1 through Monday, July 3 and from 8 a.m. to midnight on July 4.
