The Pettis County Commission has declared a state of emergency due to extreme drought conditions.

The Pettis County Commission, Pettis County Sheriff’s Department, and Pettis County Fire Protection District Number 1 strongly discourage the discharge of any aerial fireworks, and reminds all Pettis County citizens that the county is under a burn ban.

The burn ban consists of any open flame, with the exception of a barbecue grill with a lid.
