As summer temperatures continue to rise, cooling shelters are becoming available for Saline County residents.

According to Saline County Emergency Management Director Tony Day, there are cooling shelters currently available at the Marshall YMCA, Slater city office buildings, and Sweet Springs city office buildings. These shelters are available during normal business hours.

Day says that residents in other Saline County towns should contact the Saline County Emergency Management Agency to activate other cooling centers.
