
Crews with the bridge replacement work along Interstate 70 at Route AA/BB in Grain Valley will be switching to Phase 2 traffic control beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 7. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and be vigilant of work in the area. All work is weather permitting.
The following traffic changes will take place:
Friday, July 7
· There will be various westbound I-70 lane closures beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 7, until approximately noon on Saturday, July 8 for lane configuration work. There could be delays in the area during this time.
· All westbound I-70 traffic will be moved onto the new bridge and pavement in the center of I-70. Eastbound I-70 traffic will remain the same.
Saturday, July 8
· Beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, crews will close Route AA/BB at I-70 until approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, July 10 to demolish the westbound bridge.
This project will be constructed over the course of three phases in the next year. Phase 1 included bridge work and work within the median. Phase 2 will address the westbound side of the project and Phase 3 will address the eastbound side. The project is anticipated to be complete by winter 2023.
