An Odessa man was moderately injured in a one-vehicle accident in Lafayette County on Friday, June 30.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when 18-year-old Hunter Powell fell asleep at the wheel causing his vehicle to travel off the road and strike a culvert and utility pole.

Powell was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The accident occurred at 5 p.m. on Highway U in Lafayette County.
