A Waverly woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Carroll County on Friday, June 30.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by 79-year-old Fern Deatherage failed to yield at a stop sign and a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Daniel Cowherd of Carrollton struck the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Deatherage was pronounced deceased at the scene by a doctor with Carroll County EMS.

The accident occurred at 11:25 a.m. on Highway 24 at U.S. 65 in Carroll County.
