
A Marshall man has been charged with multiple felonies after an incident on June 6.
According to a report from the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy arrived at the scene on 200th Road in Saline County after a witness stated a man identified as Joshua Turner would not leave her daughter alone and feared for her safety. The witness also stated that Turner allegedly would not let her daughter leave the residence. The victim and another witness stated to the deputy that Turner had allegedly stolen the victim’s purse, returning it later missing cash, a cellphone, a wallet and keys. Turner then allegedly demanded more money from the victim but she refused stating he had taken all the money in her possession.
Turner then allegedly returned from his vehicle and approached the residence with a pipe or bat, according to the victim and began banging on the door and threatening with the object. After a second witness agreed to pay Turner more money he left the residence. Later, the victim tried to leave but Turner allegedly grabbed a backpack she was carrying, assaulting her in the process.
The deputy approached Turner and he fled from the scene on foot. Several deputies chased Turner into a wooded area with assistance from the Missouri Highway Patrol. Turner, who had been wearing a GPS device was later located and his GPS ankle bracelet was no longer on his ankle.
According to court documents, Turner has been charged with felonies for robbery, domestic assault, tampering with an electronic monitoring device, resisting arrest and unlawful use of a weapon.
No bond has been set.
Turner has an initial appearance scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 5 at Saline County Circuit Court.
