A Marshall man was injured after striking a train in Lafayette County on Tuesday, July 4.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Willie Marquess failed to yield at a train crossing marked with a cross buck and yield sign on North 10th Street in Lexington and struck the train.

Marquess was transported by Lexington EMS to Centerpoint Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The accident occurred at 2:39 p.m.
