The Odessa Board of Aldermen approved a memorandum of understanding with the Odessa School District for additional school resource officers during its meeting on Monday, July 10.

City Administrator Shawna Davis stated district wanted a third and fourth officer for the coming school year. Currently the city and district split the cost of one officer and a grant was received to hire a second. The district will be fully funding the third and fourth officers.

In other news, the board recognized the “Odessa in Focus” photo contest winners. Leslie Brice, Bobbie Long and Heriberto Landa were the winners in three different categories. The photos can be found on the City of Odessa website.
