The Warrensburg Police Department is warning of a job scam that may be harder to identify that happened to a local person recently.

The department stated a recruiter claiming to be from IBS, an investment company had offered work from home. A two hour interview via text ensued and the individual was offered a job in data entry. The individual noticed the initial email came from a Gmail account and not an IBS account. They then wanted to send him equipment but a check would arrive first. The individual was to deposit the check and then pay a third party vendor with the money to add programs.

The email was identified as noraalex008@gamail.com

The department urges never to rush into any offer that is pitched to you via email, text message or even a phone call.
