Margaret E. “Marge” Charles, 88, of rural Sweet Springs, MO, died Monday, July 17, 2023, at Fitzgibbon Hospital Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to family choice and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born December 30, 1934, in Houstonia, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Kreisel and Goldie Frisch Kreisel.  Marge lived in the rural Pettis County area most of her life where she was a graduate of Houstonia High School and member of Houstonia Baptist Church.  On May 27, 1953, she married Lyonel Harlan Charles who preceded her in death on March 8, 2023.  Marge worked for many years at Roxbury Press in Sweet Springs in addition to being a homemaker for her family.

Marge is survived by one son, Randal Charles (Lisa) of St. Louis; one daughter, Brenda Perkins (Daryl) of Marshall; four grandchildren: Dawn Heizman, Eric Perkins (Courtney), Shawn Charles and Cody Perkins; four step-grandchildren: Jenee Helein, Chris Wallen, Adrienne Burkholder and Brian Perkins; two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Maddie Heizman; two brothers, Herb Kreisel of Fairfield, IL and Eldon Kreisel of Hughesville; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one grandson, Ryan David Charles; five sisters: Lola Dieckhoff, Bertha Charles, Edna Smith, and Ruth and Shirley Kreisel in infancy; and one brother, Carl Kreisel.
