A new Emergency Management Director was approved during the meeting of the Higginsville Board of Aldermen on Monday, July 17.

Casey Warren was appointed and approved to the position. Warren also serves as a full-time dispatcher for the city. City Administrator Jeanette Dobson said the previous EMD left to take a new position.

In other news, volunteers have completed work on the Higginsville City Lake Nature Trail located at the west arm of the city lake. Volunteers worked many hours to complete the project, with the trail officially opening on Monday, July 17.
