Students from Odessa High School, Marceline High School, and 7 other Missouri schools will participate in a mock DWI crash during the TRACTION (teens taking action to prevent traffic crashes) youth traffic safety leadership training conference in Kansas City on Friday, July 21, 2023.

Assisting in the mock crash will be Kansas City Fire Department and EMS, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas City Police Department, Brad’s Tow and Recovery Service, Life Flight Eagle, and Souder Funeral Home.

TRACTION is a statewide program sponsored by the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Cape Girardeau Police Department committed to promoting safe driving habits and empowering teens while preventing underage drinking, impaired driving, drowsy driving, driver inattention and promoting safety belt usage.

The mock crash will take place at 10:45 a.m. at Embassy Suites by Hilton Kansas City International Airport.
