Alan Charles Esser, 40 of Sedalia, passed away, Thursday, July 20, 2023 at his home.

Memorial mass will be 11:00am, Friday, July 28, 2023 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Deacon Jerry Connery officiating. Inurnment will be in the columbarium niche at Crown Hill Cemetery.  The family suggests memorials to the charity of your choice, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.

Alan was born July 31, 1982, in Jefferson City to the late George F. Esser and Vicki Viebrock Esser, who survives of Sedalia.  Alan attended area schools, graduating from Smith Cotton High School in the class of 2000.

Alan attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Parish. He was an avid sportsman and he especially enjoyed swimming. Alan is survived by his son Porter Mason Esser of Lee’s Summit; brothers Joe Esser of Stony Brook, NY and Maxwell Esser of Sedalia; uncles David Esser and his wife Karen of Sedalia, Steve Esser and his wife Mary Jean of Derby, KS and Ron Esser of Davenport Florida; along with numerous cousins.

Alan was preceded in death by his long time partner, Sandra Oswald.
