A Heat Advisory has been issued for portions of eastern Kansas and northern and central Missouri. The advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26 until 9 p.m. Friday, July 28. Heat index values of up to 107 degrees are expected.

Individuals are reminded to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicle under any circumstances. Take extra precaution if working or spending time outside.

The advisory includes Carroll, Chariton, Lafayette, Johnson, Howard, Saline, Pettis and Cooper Counties in the KMMO listening area.
