An Odessa man has been charged after posting child pornographic images on his social media on May 3, 2023.

According to the Odessa Police Department, a citizen reported that 19-year-old Zachary Howell allegedly posted four sexually explicit photos of himself and a juvenile female on his Snapchat story.

Police got a warrant to seize Howell’s cellphone to investigate the images. During an interview, Howell admitted to having a sexual relationship with the 13-year-old juvenile in Kansas. Howell also admitted to posting those images to get back at the female. Authorities also found at least 19 images and 14 videos of sexually explicit content on Howell’s phone.

Court documents say Howell is charged with a felony for possession of child pornography, second offense. No bond has been warranted.

Howell is due for a hearing at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
